You probably have heard by now that Apple has dropped iphone prices by $200 on Sept 5th, 2007. Here is my conversation with Apple customer service about getting rebate if you bought your iphone recently.   

• You are chatting with David G, an Apple Expert

·         Hi, my name is David G. Welcome to Apple!

·         David G: Good afternoon

·         You: Hi, I bought an iphone on Sept 1st. Do I get a $200 rebate. Dose Apple have price protection?

·         David G: Apple does have price protection.

·         You: Okay so how will it work?

·         David G: To avail yourself of it, please contact the following number.

·         David G: The number for Customer Service and Sales Support is 800-676-2775.

·         You: Okay, I bought it from a AT&T retail store.

·         You: Is that okay?

·         David G: I believe so, the reps at that number can tell you for sure, or if you need to contact AT&T.

·         You: How long is the price protection?

·         David G: 10 or 14 days, you fall within it

·         You: Can I get the refund at an apple store? Or do I have to call customer service?

·         David G: You will have to call customer service or the AT&T store since thats the place of purchase.

·         You: If I had bought it from apple store, could I have received the refund from Apple store?

·         David G: I am not sure if the retail stores would return cash or to your credit card or refer to the same number I gave you.
